HarmonyOS NEXT officially released, open beta for more models

[Shenzhen, China, October 23, 2024] At the "Night of Native HarmonyOS and Huawei's All-Scenario New Product Launch Conference", Huawei officially released the native HarmonyOS operating system (HarmonyOS NEXT), which is the biggest upgrade since the birth of HarmonyOS, bringing users a high-quality experience of native refinement, native connectivity, native intelligence, native security, and native smoothness.

Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director, chairman of the terminal BG, and chairman of the intelligent car solution BU, said: "HarmonyOS has become the most vital digital foundation. As of now, there are more than 110 million lines of code, more than 15,000 Hongmeng native applications and meta-services have been launched, and the number of Hongmeng ecological devices has exceeded 1 billion. The stars are bright and everything is new. Now we start from the beginning!"

Harmonious aesthetics, better looking and more fun
HarmonyOS NEXT restores the light, shape, color, force, time and space of the real world through the physical rendering engine, bringing users a more immersive, colorful and smart experience. Users can also choose their favorite expressions in the "Mood Box" theme, and the expressions can show different moods depending on the intensity of shaking the phone.

Born as one, simple interaction
HarmonyOS NEXT is based on a new distributed soft bus to create a revolutionary multi-terminal connection experience. Devices can sense and connect just by getting close. Huawei also opens up all-scenario capabilities to partners to build a native interconnected interactive experience together.

Ask Xiaoyi anytime, anywhere
HarmonyOS NEXT deeply integrates AI with the operating system to bring Harmony Intelligence.
The newly upgraded Xiaoyi is more professional, more convenient, and more intimate: it has a permanent navigation bar, supports interactive methods such as circle selection and dragging, can recognize screen dialogues, can help with notes and writing, and respond to various tasks at any time.

Privacy and security, controlled by you
HarmonyOS NEXT's new Star Shield security architecture completely revolutionizes the way users manage privacy. On the one hand, it prohibits reading application lists, accessing text messages and other 9 types of unreasonable permissions; on the other hand, it introduces a security access mechanism for seven high-frequency scenarios such as gallery, camera, and contacts, and truly gives users control of privacy.

Breaking through the boundaries of computing power and being fully smooth
Based on Huawei's Ark engine, through the deep integration of software, hardware, and cloud ecosystems, HarmonyOS NEXT achieves a comprehensive and smooth upgrade from system to application, with a 30% increase in overall fluency, an increase in battery life of about 56 minutes, and an average saving of 1.5GB of running memory.

HarmonyOS native applications, a new look
Huawei's own applications such as Huawei Video, Huawei Music, and Huawei Reading have a more immersive and smarter experience, and applications such as Meituan, Douyin, Taobao, Xiaohongshu, DingTalk, Alipay, WPS, JD.com, and Feishu have developed more innovative features.

On October 22, HarmonyOS NEXT officially launched the public beta of HUAWEI Pura 70 series, HUAWEI Pocket 2 series, HUAWEI MatePad Pro 11-inch 2024 model and other models.
