In the recently held Wireless China Industry Summit 2015, Liu Yan, the director of STRC and vice president of RAC, said that China has accumulated a large number of radio data after years of development, which makes China a country with huge amounts of radio data.
This also pushed China’s radio management into a brand new period of big data management. Liu Yan said, we can achieve real-time understanding of the people activity, the electromagnetic wave environment and other things by collecting and analyzing radio data through the mobile phones and base stations. This will not only make the radio management more sophisticated, but also provide data for the public security, transportation and other departments, so that they can know the population density, traffic flow and other information of certain regions.
In order to achieve the vision of radio big data applications, the National Radio Administration Bureau will cooperate with telecom operators in the future and make the base stations and mobile devices as radio monitoring equipment, Liu Yan said.
