[Cape Town, South Africa, November 14, 2024] The 27th AfricaCom 2024 officially opened on November 11 at the Cape Town International Convention Center in South Africa.
With the theme of "Leading the Intelligent World", Huawei held industry forums, keynote speeches, exhibition halls and model site visits, attracting more than 300 operator customers, industry opinion leaders, industry organization experts, partners, etc. from various African countries to discuss hot topics such as 5G commercial success, all-optical connectivity, one country one cloud, digital rural areas, and operation and maintenance transformation, and discuss how to accelerate Africa's digitalization process, build inclusive ICT infrastructure, seize new opportunities, and win-win new growth. During the period, Huawei also released innovative solutions and white papers such as Africa's first 5.5G network and the African Broadband Outlook White Paper, and supported the African Telecommunications Union to jointly release the "Joint Communiqué on the Construction of Inclusive ICT Infrastructure in Africa" with several African countries.

At the MBBF Africa forum, African operators and industry organizations such as MTN South Africa, Safaricom Kenya, Airtel Tanzania, and GSMA shared and discussed practical experiences in 4/5G collaborative network construction, 5G commercial success, and affordable terminals. During the forum, Huawei and MTN South Africa launched Africa's first 5.5G network.

At the African Broadband Forum, guests from MTN Nigeria, Openserve South Africa, Safaricom Kenya, and Eswatini Telecom shared their successful practices on topics such as F5.5G accelerating all-optical connectivity in Africa, improving broadband quality experience, and FMC convergence evolution. In addition, Huawei also jointly released the "Africa Broadband Outlook 2024" with the African Telecommunications Union.

OTF Africa discussed the transformation and opportunities of intelligent operations with the theme of "Joining hands to move towards digitalization, creating new entrances, new experiences, and enabling new growth". At the same time, Huawei and TM Forum released three outstanding digital transformation cases in Africa, including Kenya Safaricom and South Africa MTN, to accelerate the upgrade from Telco to Techco.
In addition, during this conference, Huawei's exhibition area comprehensively displayed the latest business practices and series of product solutions in the fields of wireless, network, service, software, IT, etc., focusing on the three main themes of "connectivity upgrade, green upgrade, and digital upgrade".
