Shipment of Domestic Handsets Catches 90.6% in China in May

CATR (China Academy of Telecommunication Research) released operating information of China's handset market for May on June 12.

The information shows that handset shipment in China rose 13.2% to 50.17 million in May, including 117 newer models with a drop of 25.5%. A 20.6% YoY growth happened to shipment of domestic-brand handsets which is 45.474 million, accounting for 90.6% of handset shipment in China year-over-year.

With 38.126 million Android mobile phones included, the smartphone shipment reaches 47.372 million in May with a YoY increase of 19.8%, occupying 94.4% of the smartphone shipment in China.
