China Unicom & KPN Cooperate on IoT Connection

China Unicom and KPN signed an agreement of cooperation on Internet of Things on August 26.

Customers of China Unicom can deploy IoT services in Europe through the network belonging to KPN or its roaming partners; Also, KPN's global customers can conveniently deploy IoT in China, according to the agreement which helps further consolidate the leadership of the European and Chinese markets and drive the globe-unified deployment of IoT connections.

It is known that the program of unified deployment of global IoT connections China Unicom and KPN will send to the customers keeps in line with eSIM technology standards of being manageable through remote signing, which allows IoT devices switch to local contract data to choose the adaptable communication service provider.

Customer can use the same SIM card to deploy IoT products and services in Europe or China.

SIM card can automatically switch to the data of KPN and connect to the network of KPN or its roaming partners' in Europe and to the data and network of China Unicom in China.

The two telcos believe that further digitizing SIM card and keeping lowering the technology level of global connection deployments will be the future of global IoT connection solution.
